Regal of Water

Water is essential…for there is life

We use water.
We live with and on water.
We cannot fight against the water as its liquid.

Hold Water by Royal Model directs 80% on planning further for solutions
before the flood reached the crisis.

 Let’s follow the Royal pathways.

November 2010, HM the King is preside over the opening ceremony of Bhumibol Bridge I and II and the watergate at Klong Lud Pho, Samutprakarn as the model provided for the floodwater.

Phumipol Bridge I and II created since 1995 as the great logistic way connecting 2 districts ofBangkok andBangkok with Samutprakarn, the biggest industrial province directly. Also they push through the conflict of interests among businesses and industries. The name gave after him on September 2, 2009.

The LudPho water gate, the waterway short-cut at a horse-shoe river bend at Phra Pradaeng, a district in Samutprakarn. From an old narrow canal of about 10-15m wide into a 65m wide, it helps draining the overflowing water in Chao Phya River into the gulf of Thailand at an average rate of 40million cu. m. per day. During the last high water season, the 600m long Klong Lud Pho was capable of draining 2,450million cu.m. between early Aug. to Nov. 15. It had significantly helped decreasing flood level in many provinces in the Chao Phya Basin.

1995, Money’s cheeks Project, ‘Kaem ling’ initiated to prevent Bangkok and out skirt from floodwater by the reservoirs, the theory of gravity flow.

Kaem ling: His Majesty has modeled the technique for water retention on the way monkeys eat. They store bananas in their mouths until their cheeks are filled up. Only then they will start to chew and swallow the bananas.

HM the King has directed the Royal Irrigation Department to construct large water retention reservoirs in a ten square kilometre area near the coast, in order to store water from natural water courses and newly-dug canals. Here canals from east and west of Chaopraya River were widen to be like “Money’s cheeks” for water before release to the sea. The large one is at the east of Bangkok above Suvarnabhumi Airport (AOT), 20 others in Bangkok, Chumporn, Hadyai, and Songkla provinces.

All initiations for us spent time with difficulties on the way of production, budget, and conflict of interest.

Our beloved King; King of Kings
